Adventure Thriller

A new prophet rises in contemporary society. Is it a new truth for humankind, or something sinister?

‘Everyone wants to change the world. My dad told me to trust him and in doing so I would change the world and I did.’
In 1995 identical twin babies are born in Persia. They are split up by a man in his early forties and the mother is quietly murdered (poison?)

After consideration and discussion about the social views on different religion, one child is relocated and grows up in the Middle East, then in Europe, the other is kept in a secret room in a house in Bhutan with the man and a small group of people dressed as monks, who could be Buddhists.

The second child is constantly provided with details of the first child’s growth and interaction with the world, making changes as required to match his twin, such as scars and hair styles, fitness, diet etc, and is instructed to study his brother, the world, main languages, and all religions and social habits in detail. The first child does not know he has a brother.

Meanwhile the man trains followers and implements them in all the major/influential religions in the world and over the years they rise in rank.

(During this time ‘real-world’ ideologist terrorism attacks happen around the world, which punctuates the story and creates realism for the audience.)

The first child grows and is nurtured to become an influential speaker/leader in his religion (Muslim), which is monitored by the man and second child.

The man and second child are also interested in space exploration and new technologies, including space materials and explosive devices. They discuss this during his study.

Throughout the story the man and his people are dedicated to their task but occasionally question or discuss faith and the human condition and the way the world is developing (energy, faith, governance, etc.) They make decisions and develop ‘truths’ based on their observations and discussions, which the second son adds to his study. Occasionally the man will meet with different religious leaders and ends up writing unbiased but low key research papers on philosophy, which is not promoted.

The man also meets with a Saudi Uncle who operates an oil business, but they argue a lot about virtues and do not like each other, that they only meet and help each other because they have to.

After a few real life terrorist events and growing tensions between main religions, people and governments, the first son organises to meet with the Pope on international TV/media channels to show solidarity of the two biggest religions against violence, meanwhile the man goes to a space launch of Bhutan’s first communications satellite (joint venture between the Saudi and Bhutan government) and the man meets the wealthy Uncle. (The second son is hidden in an odd capsule that looks like a satellite so no one sees him.) They witness the satellite being launched into space.

The Saudi Uncle then goes with the man to a secluded place, they hug and shed tears, then the Saudi kneels down and the man shoots him dead.

The man then travels to a dockyard in southern UK and chats with fisherman.

A day later the first child goes to the Vatican, he swallows a device and informs security he has a pacemaker, to visit the Pope and after yelling religious calls, blows himself, the Pope and a large part of the Vatican up. The close up of the face and body of the second son exploding is witnessed by millions of people through TV and online media.

There is outrage across the world, confusion, violence, fear. A background profile of the first son is released. Two days later one of the man’s men high up in the Islamic faith blows himself and much of Mecca up, and another man in China(?) destroys another significant religious location.

The world is going crazy – people are frightened or angry, confused. During the violence the monastery in Bhutan is burned down and blown up, everything is destroyed.

A vigil against violence is called and millions of people gather in the streets in cities around the world, including London. During the event in London a bright meteor lights up the sky and is captured on every one’s phones. The bright meteor crashes into the sea south of the UK near a few fishing boats, which record the crash and moving to the crash site they pull a man from the water, everything is caught on camera.

The world is surprised that it is the first son that is pulled from the water (really second son), and the world is shocked to see him. While the fishing boat takes the first son in, a second fishing boat collects the space pod and begins dissolving it in a bunker of acid in the boat.

The first son (second son) is protected as he ‘recovers’ in hospital, photos, details and blood/DNA tests confirm that it is the first son. The world is confused but all eyes are on him when he emerges from the hospital. He confirms that he is the first son, returned to earth by God and that he was sent to reconcile the faith of humans after men have diluted true faith through religion. That he did a bad thing killing the Pope and spreading hatred using religion as the vehicle. That Gods spoke to him and sent him back to speak to the people.

The world debates his authenticity, what it means and how they should respond. Many believe he is the truth. Many convert to Islam, but he says he does not follow any ‘misdirected’ religion. The boat that recovered him mysteriously sinks killing all crew.

He speaks about two Gods, people note he is now looking healthier, more knowledgeable, more patient, wise, speaks many different languages confidently when interviewed by journalists. That he represents all and none of the present religions. That each time God sent a prophet, over time his truths were embellished or diluted to satisfy the desire of man, the people of the world again need help and faith and to be reminded of the five truths.

The man, now nearly in his 70s, is in the crowd as a religious researcher and asks the son, “What happens now?”

“I can only tell you what God has told me and the only truths he has spoken are the five truths present in all of men’s current religions: XYZ, everything else has been manufactured by men and practiced by sheep. We must always question that which men profess to be truth but is not the five truths, that must always continue. That science is part of the faith, and that atheism can be practiced and an atheist who lives by the five truths will still be granted into the next life. That is what I know. There will only ever be these five truths. What happens next is up to you, the person next to you and everyone alive today. Do we live together or do we destroy ourselves in the name of religion, greed, control, power? Each person must make a decision, but we must make it together.”

(Or something similar but more profound.)

Last scene: What will you do now?

Alternative ending is that the man shoots and kills the second son, (so that his human flaws will never be seen or discovered) and the man is killed by security, so his research and plan for a better world is never discovered.

• All main religions are balanced equally and delivered with respect.
• Examples of both love and violence are demonstrated in the name of all religious and atheist characters.

Mix all religions together, add some secularism, and highlight trends. This story is designed to help the audience explore what truth means at a personal level and collective level.
